SUCCESS TIP: INTERNET IN REAL LIFE DURING QUARANTINE
The Internet is not real life. And meetups in real life are hampered by schedules and distances between Internet “friends” during the best of times. Suddenly they are impossible as we all do our part to flatten the curve and overcome the current pandemic by staying in our homes.
However, the idea of Internet in real life goes far beyond meeting for coffee (or a drink). It’s about truly getting to know each other, building friendships and forming supportive communities wherein people help take care of each other in many differing ways. It’s an achievement that’s impossible and frequently sabotaged by Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other Internet domains, where we’ve all lost relationships due to sharing opposing ideas publicly.
Here are some basic thoughts on connecting in real life while social distancing:
1) Make Phone Calls: Believe it or not, the telephone was once used for voice to voice communication. Closer human connection can be made through free-flowing live conversation with other community members, and it only needs to take a few minutes.
2) Host Video Calls: with your community members. Use Skype, Zoom and Facetime for personal, business and community calls for closer face-to-face interaction.
3) Ask for Feedback: We all enjoy sharing our thoughts on things that interest us. And personal growth often comes from thinking about something new or outside our comfort zone. Do your Internet “friends” and members a favor by openly asking for feedback, on the phone, on video calls, by text or within your community. More on this in upcoming SUCCESS ACTIONS.
4) Listen for Needs: Although empathy is a naturally human thing, there is something powerful about consciously listening for needs, both big and small while communicating by any means. There may be some small thing you can do to fulfill someone’s need. Or if you detect some need beyond your ability, an introduction or referral may fill it for someone.
5) Use Twitter More Personally: Twitter DMs, using the envelope message icon enables quick personal messages to those following you as well as others who allow DMs from non-followers. Beyond sending a quick “thank you” message to people when they follow you, share something personal about your life and interests... and ask a question about what they are focused on right now or goals they are working to achieve, which may invite real life friendship. More on this in upcoming SUCCESS ACTIONS.

Question: With the new articles feature, will this have the same general rules of SEO as Google? If not, what's the rule set to get good results? And where does the search show? Are the articles largely for our audiences or will they draw additional folks in (assuming not set subscribers only)?
I know how to google-fu a good blog, but would be helpful to know what the rules of engagement here are. Oh, and are the articles searchable on other platforms?
Thanks!
